Dr. Pen Microneedling Instruction Guide

*MICRONEEDLING CAN ONLY BE PERFORMED ONCE PER MONTH

  • Pre-Treatment Preparation (Before You Start)

You Will Need: Dr Pen device, clean towel, brand new cartridge, alcohol solution, numbing cream (optional), cotton pads, surgical gloves (optional), serum (hyaluronic acid is recommended).

Select the Right Device: For home use, devices like the Dr. Pen M8S, M9, or A11 are recommended for precision.

Disinfect the Cartridge: Soak a new, sterile needle cartridge in 75% isopropyl alcohol for 5-10 minutes.

Cleanse Your Skin: Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser to remove all makeup, oil, and impurities.

Numbing (Optional): If using needles deeper than 0.5mm, apply a thin layer of topical numbing cream for 20 minutes, then wipe it off completely with alcohol or saline.

Set Up a Clean Zone: Lay out your device, alcohol wipes, and sterile serum (like Hyaluronic Acid) on a clean towel.

  • Step-by-Step Procedure

Hand Hygiene: Before handling sterilized needles or medical equipment, wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap for at least 20 seconds, or wear sterile disposable medical gloves to prevent bacteria from transferring to your face.

Apply Serum: Apply a generous amount of Hyaluronic Acid serum to one section of the face at a time (e.g., the forehead) to act as a lubricant.

Adjust Needle Depth: Set the device to the appropriate depth (typically 0.25mm to 0.5mm for the face, or use Nano-needles for product absorption with zero downtime).

Vertical & Horizontal Passes: Gently glide the device across the skin. Move in vertical, horizontal, and then diagonal patterns.

Avoid Dragging: Lift the device slightly when changing directions to prevent "track mark" scratches.

Target Areas: Focus on specific concerns such as Fine Lines, Acne Scars, or Large Pores. Do not spend more than 2-3 minutes on a single area.

Pinpoint Bleeding: Light redness or "pinpoint bleeding" is normal for deeper treatments; stop once the skin is evenly flushed.

Immediate Care: Rinse the face with lukewarm water only and apply another layer of Hyaluronic Acid.

Avoid Harsh Actives: Do NOT use Vitamin C, Retinol, or exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA) for at least 48-72 hours.

Sun Protection: Avoid direct sun exposure for 24 hours. After that, apply a mineral-based SPF daily, as your skin will be highly photosensitive.

No Makeup: Keep the skin "breathable" and avoid applying makeup or using dirty makeup brushes for at least 24 hours.

Sanitize: Dispose of the one-time-use needle cartridge immediately. Never reuse needles.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water and use a clean silk pillowcase to prevent bacterial transfer.
